Fullsac 2.0 inch cores with Techmat Exhaust Packing Material
« on: October 23, 2011, 10:58:17 PM »

I posted previous thread (Bub 7 Stealth vs. Fullsac 1.75 Cores) in an effort to find a solution to make my Fullsac Stage I setup (X-pipe, power cores, TTS Mastertune) a bit quieter without sacrificing performance.  I decided to try the Techmat material. Initially, I wrapped the Techmat directly against the core. Sound was OK but loud. I then took the stock baffle and removed all the fiberglass down to the protective screen. I wrapped the Techmat twice around the protective screen (I did not change the diameter of the protective screen so an air pocket exists between core and protective screen). Inserted Fullsac 2.0 power core into wrapped protective screen and reinstalled. The sound is deeper. No problem hearing my J&M Rokkers, no impact on performance. IMHO awesome yet balanced sound.

Mr D....Was your setup similar to mine in terms of # of wraps and using the protective screen maintaining the air pocket?
