I called Rebecca and she sent me everything I needed for a fairing mount of the 665/NIM.  Hardest part was getting up the nerve to dremel through the dash pad and plastic fairing and lining up the two bracket bolt holes.  I went from the inside out.  For the most part everything was plug and play.  I hooked up the GPS power and ground to the spare connectors on the headlight harness.  In the drawing looks like the 660 has a plug connected to the fuse and ground wire.

Take your time with radio plug 28? (35 pin plug).  I cut the tape and pulled back some of the wire loom.  Remove the red pin guide assembly by the clips on each side of the plug.  Pull the five white dummy plugs out from the wire side and slide the new wired connectors from the GPS harness in.  Might not need to remove the red guide but I couldn’t see the connectors with is still attached.  Just did it Wednesday and so far everything works great even with the three windshield bags.  I’ll put it to the test on the Blue Ridge this weekend.  Didn’t see where the GPS female mic plug for the CB connects to.  Please feel free to point out an easier/better way and any differences with the 660 besides the XM AUX IN.

Sounds like it went ok for you. I am still waiting for a few more parts from the stealer, then I will attempt the same thing you did.

So you drilled right through the fairing and the pad from the inside of the faring? did you take the pad off, or drilled right through.  What about the leather covering over the pad, how did the drill go through that? Can you elaborate on that point for me. Cheers.

Once you take the outer fairing off you will see the two allen head screws that hold the dashpad on.  I cut a 5/8” by 3/8” hole in the top (not side) of the fairing located above the dashpad screw between the two molded fairing supports.   I then marked where the mount was bolted on and trimmed the leather and cut another hole in the front of the pad.  Wire runs behide the mount through the pad then turns and goes through the top of the fairing.  Everything hidden except the inch of wire from the GPS mount behind the bracket.  I’m on night shift so hope you can understand all this yap!

I bought the precut dash pad when I did mine. Was an easy install tho. I didn't do the whole NIM thing. I just ran aux to back of radio and plugged into that.

HD sells a dash pad with the holes already in it. Sorry couldn't find the part number at the moment. There are some older posts with pics on this install try a search if you haven't already.

Going to the steeler today and see what these pre-drilled pads go for.  Thanx for all the help.

The pad is 57885-10 and is about $125.  The chrome trim piece for the pad is 57842-06 and is about $60.

I got my predrilled pad from zanotti for $85 I think, then took the chrome off original one.

Bought mine there also.  They were cheaper on that part than the 20% off shops.  Just checked and it came in at $83.29.  MSRP of almost $125 according to the receipt.  That's a good discount.  Their shipping charges can be extreme sometimes.  But if paying attention they're a good source.

Not sure why anyone would buy a pre-drilled pad, if they have the current one. Takes about 5 minutes to mark, drill and cut the original pad. Nothing to it.

Would have done that if not starting from scratch.  Back in the dark ages of 2005 no one had invented dash pads yet though.   ???
