« on: October 28, 2011, 08:22:31 PM »

OK does a heated seat really help. My butt stays warm and I use Gerbing. will a heated seat help so when I don;t have the Gerbing on keep me warm. Just seeems that my butt is the last to get cold.  I have never tried a heated seat and do not know of anyone with one so any advice would be appreciated             Thanks Billy

If you use the Gerbing heated pants and your boody doesn't get cold, I would spend the money on other goodies. :nixweiss: I don't wear heated bottoms but do use the top in heated gear. I have heated seats on on both bikes and use them and love them. When I have chaps on or jeans and a cool morning or evening it sure is nice! My 2012 Yellow Jacket has dual controls which is nice when your riding with a passenger. :2vrolijk_21:

I agree with the positive comments regarding heated seats.  It's especially nice for those temps (40s) when it's a little too cold for no heat, but not quite cold enough to require heated gear.  I've found heated grips and seat invaluable for those early spring and fall evenings when the temps fall rapidly as it gets dark.

Man.  Surprised by the positive comments.

I HATE THE THING!!!  It's somewhere around nuclear meltdown when set on low.  Surface of the sun on high.  Major POS!

BTW, I ride above 25.  I do use heated jacket.  I don't own heated pants.  Have heated gloves but I like the heated grips better.

Wouldn't want another bike without a heated seat. Once you have a heated seat it would be hard to do without it for cold weather riding.

Can still remember before getting my first heated saddle thinking "is this a waste of money, seems foolish."  But blew the extra hundred bucks to have Corbin do it heated.  It's nice.

For longer rides in cold weather I'll go ahead and use the heated pants.  For lesser distance or not quite so cold the easier to manage heated jacket liner and gloves together with the heated saddles are great though.  It does make a difference further downstream.  May be a placebo effect but I've convinced myself the legs stay warmer if the ass is heated.  Guess it's the blood getting a jolt of heat before going down hill on that last trip before returning for an oxygenation and heating cycle.

Legs do get it last.  Freshly juiced blood first goes to the heart, the brain, and the arms, then all the abdominal organs before finally going down to the legs.  So every little bit of help a saddle can offer has to help.  At least it seems that way to me.

didn't think I'd like them as much as I do!  Perfect on the cool mornings when it's still too warm for heated clothing.

An absolute must in my book. Leave out in nice weather, come home in evening in chill. If seat is to hot on low, takes no effort to turn it OFF/ON. Not IMHO, just the facts. Bet if you try it, it will be a requirement.....not an option.
