Can still remember before getting my first heated saddle thinking "is this a waste of money, seems foolish."  But blew the extra hundred bucks to have Corbin do it heated.  It's nice.

For longer rides in cold weather I'll go ahead and use the heated pants.  For lesser distance or not quite so cold the easier to manage heated jacket liner and gloves together with the heated saddles are great though.  It does make a difference further downstream.  May be a placebo effect but I've convinced myself the legs stay warmer if the ass is heated.  Guess it's the blood getting a jolt of heat before going down hill on that last trip before returning for an oxygenation and heating cycle.

Legs do get it last.  Freshly juiced blood first goes to the heart, the brain, and the arms, then all the abdominal organs before finally going down to the legs.  So every little bit of help a saddle can offer has to help.  At least it seems that way to me.

It's definitely not a placebo effect. Keeping your body core warm will definitely make your arms and legs warmer. That's why a heated vest will actually warm your legs and feet. A heated seat does the same thing. If your body core is warm, your body will "allow" more blood flow to your extremities to warm them up. If your body core is cold then your body slowly shuts down blood flow to your hands and feet and then arms and legs. Keep the core warm and your hands and feet will feel toasty.

Third bike with heated seat and grips, never will own one without them again.  It makes a big difference too me.

I have to agree with everyone else. I wouldn't own another bike without a heated seat.

Never thought I would have a bike with heated seats, but now that I have them I really enjoy them. I have the dual control which as someone else said keeps the bsr happy. I don't use my part alot but it is nice in the 30-40 degree weather.

It's another one of those things that you don't know you need until you get one, and then you can't go back.  I think it makes you feel warmer overall, just like heated seats in a cage.  In a cage with heated leather seats, I can often turn the fan off and just use the heat from the seat to stay warm feeling all over.

If you have a BSR that rides with you, it's a must have.  One of these days, I'm going to pick up one of those heated jacket liners too.

Heading back to Sacramento from Portland and hit some unexpected really cold weather....the largest heat exchanger on my bod is my rear end.  Kept me going until I could stop and buy some wool socks and face protection....my grip warmers died many years ago...but my seat keeps me alive.

One of the reasons I bought a CVO bike when I converted to Harleys was the heated grips and seat. I had them on the Beemers I've owned and came to appreciate them on some long cold weather rides. I'm about to buy a replacement seat and you bet it will have heat in it, even if I only use it a few months out of the year that extra money will be well spent.

The only way to go.  When the seat gets too hot just turn it off, when yor butt gets too cold just turn it on.  When I buy another ride it will have heated seats and grips.

Love it for cold weather long rides. My gripe is that it turns off automatically after 1.5 hours and will not come back on unless you stop and turn the ignition off for 5 minutes...  Thats a bummer for long rides as a tank takes me 3 hours to burn through.  Even if you turn it on and off it starts the clock from the first time you turn it on.  I have learned to wait as long as I can before turning it on between tanks.  Still love it though.  Anyone know how to override this?

Are you sure about having to turn the ignition on/off?  Have you tried just turning the seat switch off, then back on when going down the road?  I haven't used mine on the '11 SERGU long enough to have it cut off automatically, but on my '06 SEUC it would reset by turning the seat switch off, then back on.

OK...just read the owner's manual.  First, the seat only stays on for 1 hour at a time.  Second, the seat can be immediately reset by turning the seat switch to the off position, then back on to the desired setting.  At least that is the way it is supposed to work, and is the way I have experienced it working in the past.

You may have issues with your seat.
