Heated handle grips
« on: November 29, 2011, 11:20:40 PM »

Ive got a 2011 CVO RGU with heated handle grips. they perform OK in the driveway but cruizin in 50 degree temps the just don't do the job. I think there is a sensor issue or perhaps the adjustment knob is bad. Should'nt they work well when you need them the most. It's goin in for 5k service with a request to check. Any problems out there like that?  :(

Welcome to the site crow60.
Harley heated grips have a spotty record. Some have not had problems and others have been through multiple sets. There are several threads on this site about the grips acting up and the methods taken to solve the issue. Some members use the warranty or extended service plan to get replacement grips and others have given up on Harley and installed aftermarket heated grips.

I'm thinking about ditching the left side with the controller and installing another right side (throttle) in its place. Then use another heat controller to work both of them. I'm thinking the grips themselves are okay, it just the controller and wiring that's the problem.

Any thoughts?
