My wife Debbie and I wanted to make a joyous announcement to our extended family. On June 30th at 6:33 PM our very first grandson John David made his entrance into this world! He came in weighing a healthy 8lbs 6ozs. As those of you that are grandparents can testify what a wonderful joyous moment this is! [smiley=banana.gif] Those that are not just wait! ;D

My plans were to go to Cripple Creek but decided to wait since the due date was the 23rd of June. Figured I will be in Maggie Valley in October, God willing! A sacrifice well received.

Debbie and I was waiting with family for John David to arrive and I realized how blessed I am. We prayed in the waiting room that they would not have to do a cesarean. I praised God for allowing me to live long enough to see his birth. My father passed before seeing any grandchildren. As important and joyous this day is I asked God if I may see a more important day. That would be John Davids second birth, the day he nails down his salvation for all Eternity! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

What a reminder to see the miracle of creation and how we take so much of God's Blessings for granted. As we get ready to celebrate the birthday of this great nation may we first remember what made us so great. Second, may you pray to God that he brings revival to this wonderful country of ours!

Thanks for allowing me to share my joy with you. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Here are a few pictures of the new Joy in our life.

Congrats, what a wonderful blessing it is to be a Grandparent. My first grandchild is two, and she knows she can get anything she wants from her "Grandpa". The feeling I get when I get to spend time with her matches nothing else. As a parent you do all you can for your kids, but when grandchildren come they draw that little extra out of you that you didn't know existed.

That's great new JR.  Happy Granddad-ness !  So many babies come out all wrinkly and ugly and funny looking.  Your grandkid is absolutely none of those things though  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

How old before the first ride?


All kidding aside, congratulations to you and the family.  Hope mom and dad are both feeling great and recovering from the wonderful event nicely.  The baby is beautiful!
