My thoughts exactly...the dealer keeps the cash on something I would think they would have to send back for warranty........

yeah, not sure how all that would have played out on their end now that you guys bring it up. I just assumed it was just like ordering one, I was going to pay for it one way or another. I didn't really want to give the original back since it was "mine", got to ride several weeks before the new one showed up, so had some sentimental value anyway...

Did you mention to your dealer that you wanted to buy it before or after they ordered the replacement fairing?  If it was before, then what they did was probably bought your replacement fairing at dealer cost from the MoCo, and then charged you full retail for the old one, basically making probably a couple hundred dollars profit off of you, because they are supposed to return the warranted part to the MoCo.  I know my dealer did when they replaced the outter fairing on my '10 SESG and the inner fairing on my '11 SERGU, because I asked if I could get the outter fairing off my my '10 and they said I'd have to order a new one as the other would have to be sent back to the MoCo for analysis.  Something don't smell right here..... :confused5:

That is a cool idea. I have taken a few left over parts transform into something else. This would be something I would do except......Volski still has my fairing and 3 lowers....since sept of 2010 :soapbox: and he wont answer my calls to get them back :coolblue:

That sucks.  No wonder the guy unceremoniously dumped his membership and headed off.  You have the worst luck with painters Brian.  It's like you are some personal black hole of bad painter ju ju that just sucks them all toward you.
