fulsac exhaust and 2" vs 2 1/2" baffles
« on: December 16, 2011, 07:17:01 PM »

Could any of you enlighten me as to your experiences with the fulsac exhausts and whether you have used the 2" or the 2 1/2" baffles? I am going to change out the exhaust on my 2012 CVO Ultra Classic and only want to do it once.
Sure would appreciate any input you can give me.... good or bad... Thanks.

I decided on the 2" instead of the 2 1/2".  A bit more quieter and I'm told they put out a tad  more HP than the 2 1/2".  I also went with the Fullsac X-Pipe.

If I had to do it again I would consider going 2 into 1 pipe from D&D Fat Cats.  Do your research and see what works for you best.

Do a search on this subject. There have been many -- many posts on this subject.  I have the Fullsac X pipe and the 2 inch baffles and they work great for me.

I have both 2" and 2.25 Baffles for Fullsac. While the dyno shows a sight edge to the 2.0 baffles I defy anyone to really "feel" the difference. For me, the 2.25 was more about the "tone" of those compared to the 2.0 baffles. I like a little "deeper" rumble and worth whatever the dyno sheet shows. Steve and I spent a long day comparing both but it all comes down to the "sound" you prefer... 2.0 sounds more like a small block chevy, the 2.25 more like a big block. At cruising speeds both are the same SPL. When you REALLY crank on it the 2.25 cores sound great IMO.

I have Vance & hines duals with 2.0 fullsac mufflers, could not be happier the sounds is great when on the highway its not a  sound that will make you go deaf  and you can hear the radio good , but when you hit it above 2500 rpm it will talk to you.  The best for the money , $519 for Vance Hines and $120 for 2.0 baffles from Steve the only way to go, Good Luck.

The wife and I both have the Fullsac 1.75" baffles and we're both very happy with them. :2vrolijk_21:

I have the 2.0's on my '10 SESG.  They give you a more throaty idle and when you get on it you can tell they are not stock...but they are not annoyingly loud.  I had V&H true duals and slip-ons on my '03 SERK and they were much louder.

I chose the 2.0s, in part, so I could so I could hear my tunes.

I'll chime in like everyone else.

I have the Fullsac stage 1 with the 2 1/4" baffles - nice rumble at idle that starts growling and builds to a nice roar going up the RPM scale on the tac.
Mellows out VERY nicely once at speed with lower RPM - road to Laughlin and back (4 hours each way) with no sound complaints at all.

2 issues to watch for:
1. watch out for that growl that builds to a roar - you will get closer and closer to that redline enjoying that sound - it is VERY satisfying
2. I almost wish the auto volume control worked in reverse - I need it louder going through gears than I do at speed, like I said, it really mellows out nicely at lower RPM while at cruising speed

Jury isn'tt out yet?  I just installed the 2.25 baffles and it's really hard to tell the difference.  Winter outside, bikes indoor in a shop.  I think the sound is deeper at idle and on revs, maybe a little louder too?  Hard to tell indoors?  I was going to sell the 2.0 baffles, but I may hold off until I get it outside?  No tuning changes necessary and the baffles aren't worth enough for the inconvenience.  Bottom line, can't go wrong either way.

I rode 40K miles with the 2.25 fullsac baffles in my 09.  I did several 600 plus mile days, mellow at 75 mph steady speed.

Very deep at idle and loud when getting on it.

If I do not like the mufflers I bought for my 12 CVO road glide, I will get the 2.25 fullsacs and put them in.

:nervous:Wait a second, I thought I read you have noise restrictions for exhausts in Maine?  If so, you may want to check some threads, I thought the Fullsac 1.75 were compliant for Maine?

Did the baffles you removed look the same on both sides?
