2007 CVO Models?
« on: July 04, 2006, 08:00:52 PM »

Does anyone know what models Harley plans on marketing as CVO models for the 2007 model year? It appears from the history of the CVO models on Harleys website that they carry each particular model as a CVO unit for 2 years in a row.
Since the V-Rod and FatBoy were 2005 & 2006 models and the Ultra CVO was introduced in 2006, I was hoping the Ultra would be offered again in 2007 as a CVO model as I am interested in possibly purchasing one. Does anyone have an inside track on this info as my local HD dealer is mum on this issue.

ace,
Welcome to the site. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I would think it would be safe to bet on the Screamin' Eagle Ultra to be around for '07. If you are interested in one get on some dealers list to assure you can get one.

Find out in Sturgis: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1151450739/26#26 or after the dealer's meeting which happens sometime soon. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Ace,

You can count on an Ultra in '07!  I had a friend who was the head of the CVO divison for sometime (he has moved to another are in the Motor Co.).  He told me to make the engineering and R & D costs worthwhile they need to make the same model for two years.  They make changes to accessories and paint but for the most part the same.

Like said before, get on your dealers list NOW!

One more thing, no reason the wait for Sturgis.  Check www.harley-davidson.com on July 14th about 1:00 pm Eastern Time.

Great tip.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I will add it to my outlook calendar and will get the reminder just before 1:00 pm on the 14th to go and look.  Thanks a lot.

No mystery to me.  I spent quite a few years in the Defense Industry.  There are thousands of former employees still keeping quiet about projects they worked on twenty years ago.  Some will be known about someday, some will never be made public.

I don't know about HD, but when the Gummint says "don't tell", people do it.

BLM pretty much sums it up--job security....and some fear as well.
