Joan Goode to be exact. She is a fairly new rider, but a good one because as a professional dance instructor she knows the value of practice. She's ridden with the SoCal members, most recently to Santa Barbara, Ojai and Long Beach. Shes on a Suzuki 800 Intruder for now, but last I saw she really liked the look of the 2005 Banana CVO ElectraGlide!!!!
Here's a video of her riding the circle. That KZ1000 Police bike is bigger than what she rides, but she handled it very well. Listen to her steady and smooth throttle. See how her head is turned and her eyes are commited to look behind her. This makes the circle smoother and tighter. She has a pretty good lean too.
Here she makes an excellent u-turn well within 24', the width of two city streets. Her approach is spot on, she snaps her head to look back, does a quick check over her outside shoulder and accelerates steadily into traffic.
It was a pleasure working with Joan and watching her confidence grow. One thing I loved was her dogged determination and tenacity. She had a HUNGER to learn and a DESIRE to improve. She had a stick to it attitude that any instructor can appreciate. The next time we get together we'll work on tightening the exercies up a bit, and then we'll work in hills and inclines.
