So...What Did You Do On The 4th of July?
« on: July 05, 2006, 08:29:10 PM »

Here's the question...

It's the 4th of July, Independence Day...what did you do to celebrate this event?

I'll tell you what I did...Rode over to Beaufort, SC...visited the National Cemetery and paid respects...then went to Huntington Island Beach.

The lady pictured had a fascination with the propane tank that was boiling the peanuts she was about to purchase...

about right now JC is saying...boiled peanuts?  Damn..."There not for everyone"...however, even if you do not like 'em, you gotta love the pose...

JC,

Perhaps now you know why I like boiled peanuts.

As the announcer Dave Niehaus of the Seattle Mariners said on the Fourth of July when a homerun left the park..........."My Oh My!"

Just got back from the mountains on Monday, so it was relax-day.
Saluted the flag, then started adding a little bling to the bikes... until I sliced my finger open bad on them sharp cylinder fins on wifey's bike (she had to have a 'Road King' shift linkage). [smiley=stars.gif]
Then watched the space launch on TV, and ran outside to try to see it (usually we can see something, this time we saw nada).
Then just sat and watched the world go by with a good cigar (or 3). Screw cuttin' the grass... I'm injured.

Hey bigdog... any bikes in the parade?

Garz,
Nope no bikes but plenty of old cars. Seemed to be more of an advertising parade then anything. Hot day out also.

Don't think those were my words when I got oakie-doked into trying a boiled peanut......and don't think I could post my words on line here. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]  But the picture is very nice.......and good to see that you're back to your ol' self again! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Correct, it was not my intent to impose those were your words, only mine.

Jock,

Back in my days in good ol' VA, I was conned into trying boiled peanuts and my reaction was probably similar to or worse than JC's.  However, after seeing your picture of a true afficionado, I could probably be convinced to try them again (by her, that is).   :o
