Audio inputs are separate from the Bluetooth module and the CAN data BUS will run in parallel, so there will be no issue with the HDPDPLUS2 connecting to your system

Thanks IC - that does sound like good news. Which pins are used on the connector for the HDPDPLUS2 to connect?  (As I'm sure you know, the HD BT module uses 4 & 27, their iPod kit uses 8, 19, 31, 4, and 27, unless the BT module is installed, whereby you just don't connect the 4 & 27 from the iPod kit, as the BT kit uses them already.)

hdpdplus2 has a jumper...no need to re-pin.

If you want to pin it directly, its p1ns 8,19, and 31 for audio and pins 13,14 for CAN data BUS

Thanks.  And the appearance on the display would be fine with a UK spec HK unit?  (Currently cycles through MW, LW, FM, CD, Phone, Ipod, and adjusting the phone volume shows it being adjusted for Nav/Phone since the iPod firmware update.)

Such a shame they discontinued the BT module, as it's 1000 times better than using the Garmin BT.
If you want somebody to test your ipod module with the BT, I'll be your guinea pig!  :D

Amen!! I loved my HK BT module. Unfortunately, I have installed the NIM and it required using pins #4 and #27 just like an iPod.
Jim did you say you just left wires #4 and #27 disconnected on the iPod harness?
I think the NIM and iPod harness is the same thing so maybe I can leave 4 and 27 hooked up for my HK BT?

IC, I read where the HDPDplus 2 is going to be updated right away? Any eta on when that will happen?
Do you think there is a way I can have it all? HK BT, NIM and your iPod interface?

Not like that, you can't, Brad.  The NIM kit specifically says "Does not fit with Advanced Audio Hands Free Cell Phone Kit P/N 76408-06."  :(

However, I DO have it all - the iPod kit, the BT module, and the audio from my Garmin 660 interrupting everything else.  :)  I did it by using a Cellset module instead of the NIM: http://www.cellset.com/65357R1.pdf

It isn't a cheap option, but it gives me everything, and it all works.  (Except for the crappy firmware in the iPod kit driving me nuts, of course!)

I have looked into the Cellset but I do not use a headset(most of the time) so not a good option for me.
One of these days, I will jumper the HK BT wires #4 and #27 to where the NIM connects just to see what happens.
Mother Harley might have said "no go' just because they did not test with the now discontinued HK BT module.

With the brain trust in this forum, I am sure we can come up with a definite go or no go!

Don't think so, Brad!  (They wouldn't necessarily test, they'd know what would work, and they did say the iPod kit was compatible with the BT kit.)
