Trailer Hitch & Wiring Harness for 2011 SEUC
« on: January 07, 2012, 08:54:23 AM »

I'm looking to add a trailer hitch & wiring harness to my 2011 SEUC. I'm looking for everyones 2 cents on this subject. I'm leaning toward an N-line hitch as I have 1 on my FLT.

Also I want to know who makes the best  wiring harness. Do I need to get 1 with an isolater in it? I have 2 trailers,an N-line with a 4 wire plug & an American Legend with a 5 wire plug.I want to have a harness that is compatable with both trailers. I have both trailers wired to my 89 FLT.

Your opinions are appreciated!

I would recommend the isolater wiring harness..  Takes power from the battery and signal from your lights, but doesn't add extra draw on the light circuit itself.

Hiden hitch is what I have on my 05.

kenr,

Thanks for the offer on the hidden hitch. This hitch is not compatable with the N-LINE receiver. I know someone on this forum will be interested in buying your hitch.

Thanks again.

Here ya go.  Not the cheapest but good chit.  Receive is hidden so ya never know its there.  Easy install.  Wiring harness is up to you.  All kinds of options.  Warning though.  Make sure the person wiring it is COMPETENT or you got problems.

mchitch makes a good hitch .I too have a single wheel trailer and they need to be a lil stronger on side to side. I bought parts and made a link from fender plug where main harness plugs to tail lights at fender so I can unplug when trailer not being pulled.this is link.     http://www.mchitch.com/

Tat is the setup I use and have never regretted it.  I also use Electrical Connections isolator as seen here http://www.electricalconnection.com/wire-harnesses/hrns-trailer.htm Ride safe, David

JDOFLHRIDER,

What wiring harness did you go with on your 2010? Was it a plug & play with a converter?
Thanks.

i agree the bushtec reciever hitch is top notch. just installed one on my 2012 seuc. my only complaint is the small allen head bolts used on the side mount holes. some type on 6 point head would have been much better

I think it's the best hitch for any Harley! They even make a hitch for the SE CVO's!
