Any update on XM Satelite for Canadians?
« on: July 08, 2006, 02:39:38 AM »

For all of us who purchased the SEUC in Canada we didn't get the XM Satelite option on our radio but it was included in the price we paid for the bike.  Sometime ago this question was raised and someone from Ontario commented that his dealer told him our bikes would be recalled and fitted with the XM radio once Deeley Canada signed an agreement with XM.  I am curious to know if anyone has an update on this situation? I hate to be the only one that responds to my own subject but hell, if you don't have any friends to chat with, just chat with yourself [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif].  On that note, my father used to always say, "It's ok to talk to yourself as long as you don't answer yourself", so here I go:  I have an answer [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif].

Went to my dealer today to ask about the XM radio and he said Deeley Canada has signed a deal with XM and they have ordered my module [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif].  They will do the install once it arrives at the shop.

Yee haaaaaaaa!

Is it a freebie install Kerry?  Or you having to pay some or all of the cost?

(at least you'll have it)

120 channels and not one worth listening to.  No commercials, BU!!$H!T  There's one after every couple of songs.  They're either telling you how great the station is you're listening to or how you should try listening to one of the other stations.  I told 'em to stuff it.

Canuck...congrats on getting the problem resolved.  When they do the install, make sure they put the XM antenna on TOP of the radio...I read from some other post that it is located in an odd place, and would probably do better on top of a metal surface, like the top of the radio.  I'll be taking my fairing off to do some wiring for the GPS, and plan on relocating mine then. The only complaint I've had is losing the signal in hilly/heavily forrested areas.  Personally, I like the XM...they do promote themselves some, but nothing on the order of normal FM...maybe 10 second promos.  So far as stations, 46 and 49 are good ones to me, plus a few others, depending on what you're in the mood for, and what kind of music you like.

Haven't you signed up to be a product tester yet?  If I hear that chit one more time..................ah hell, at least I get NASCAR in Washington and no one here (that I receive)carries it on radio.

XM is all I listened to on the way to CC and through Utah and Wyoming.

I also let my XM freebie lapse.  I have Sirius in my other vehicles and house.  I heard somewhere it may be available as an add-on in the future.  Thats what I want!  The NFL is for me....  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Got a call today from Davies Harley-Davidson in Toronto advising me  that my XM module had arrived and was ready for installation!!!!  They'll install the ignition lock upgrade at the same time.

Good luck to other Canadian owners still waiting for the module.....

I activated the XM, but I won't be renewing past the 90 day free trial.  If you're not getting it, I don't think your missing much.  They do do commercials and I'm surprised at the number of times that I lose the signal.  I almost never lose my local radio station and the CD player seems to work regardless of my location.

I have XM in my truck and on the bike. I like it. I don't have to be changing channels as I am riding to find a new station, and I can pick what I want to hear very easy...one button for rock, or country, or 80's, or showtunes.....wait...not showtunes!

Anyway, my 2 cents..I like it
