Passenger Footboard Assembly Help
« on: July 09, 2006, 01:57:09 PM »

OK....have been searching around and haven't been able to find anything on this one:

I'm looking to replace my passenger footboard chrome mounts with some standard black mounts (have Reinhardt pipes and want to mount Kurykayn passenger footpegs and thus have to use their extended mount).  So....any suggestions on how to remove the stock footboards from the chrome mounts?  Can't find instructions anywhere....any tricks would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

If memory serves you just pop the top half of the footboard out of the base.  Then you'll see the plugs that hold the pins in place.  Two pins that each slide outboard to remove the base from the bracket.

Twolane...thanks for the help....there's a little allen bolt that holds the top in place...then you just pop it off.  I'm a little ham fisted sometimes so I like to ask before I pry....haha....frequently ends up saving me money...thanks again for the help!
