Thanks for all the pictures JC, great to see you and Terri and the rest of the gang. Turned out to be a nice day, sun coming out and all. Really enjoyed putting a few miles on my new to me bike. Thank you very much Jim HD dude. :orange: Looking forward to more miles and smiles...... Jon

Okay, my turn.

We were entertained by this gal. She could sing, dance and hold my attention. I liked the way her clothes fit her.

Eye candy...

I give Michael and Michi credit for waiting in line for an autograph. If I had to wait 2.5 hours it better be someone REAL special, like Mahatma Ghandi, Marcus Auerleius or Albert Schweitzer. But someone from SOA, meh.....

Just before lunch JC and I stopped and parked in front of the HD clothing shop at Fishermans Wharf. It used to be free parking, but not any more. That's JC walking inside to get quarters.

Afterwards I went to Chinatown and The Tenderloin to watch the Chinese and Vietnamese communities celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

Later I went to a bar on the Wharf to have a beer before dinner. I met a group of visiting Saints Fans hosted by Renee and Caitlin who were commiserating the loss to the 49ers. They were impressed with my knowledge of obscure football trivia and kept buying me beers all night.

This morning I was greeted by a beautiful sunrise over the bay. I really do love San Francisco.

Anyway you look at it, it was more comfortable for me to sit on than previous model BMWs, due to the narrower frame/motor config.  For those wondering, it does have a highway peg option or accessory that actually get your legs/feet out in front of you quite a bit. :2vrolijk_21:

Maybe they didn't know they were for BIG Lew.  ;D

Serious......you do know they're designed to be worn with a light liner but not jeans, don't you?  I wear boxers or if it's really cold out, I wear some cotton Harley lounging pants bottoms (I think that's a fancy name for pajama bottoms but they have pockets and no fly).

Is that option more like crusising pegs, whereby the controls are still left in same position?  :nixweiss: I test drove the 1200RT a couple years ago loved the ride but hated the foot/leg position... Not good for arthritic knees... Have you test drove one yet??

I test rode the 1200 RT a couple of years ago, over at A&S BMW.  I didn't like it for the same reason.....the feet position caused my hips to lock up.  Every time I stopped I had to stand up to get them unlocked.

I found myself at A&S this past Sat. sitting on that 1600 again.  Both the motor and the frame are narrower than the 1200 and so it's much more comfortable.

I didn't take it for a test ride and I'll tell you why......Terrie said "you can get this one and I'll keep your SESG and we'll sell my Street Glide".....I didn't test ride because I'm just pretty darn sure I'd like it (I like everything else about the 1200 when I test rode it) and I didn't want to be tempted. :nixweiss:   Stop by A&S BMW......I'm sure they'd be happy to convert another Harley rider. :huepfenlol2:

I recently sat on the 1600 GTL and loved it!!! Surprised the heck out of me how low it was. I had regular shoes on, no sole, and I could almost flat foot it. The seat height on the GTL is only 29.5 inches. Getting very good reviews for a first year bike!!  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

I think the consensus is that the riders love them, but the passangers find the rear uncomfortable.
