no slot cars today:

"Temporary Blackout In Protest of SOPA and PIPA (PROTECT IP Act)

Wimp.com is joining other websites such as Wikipedia.org and Mozilla.org in going dark today to protest the US SOPA and PIPA bills that will eventually be debated in Congress. We realize this is a political matter and as a family friendly website that tries to veer away from sensitive topics such as politics and religion - we felt we couldn't sit idly by while a law is passed that could very well mean the demise of this website and others like it.

We felt it necessary to provide exposure to this bill, because if it comes to pass without proper debate - and we didn't at least do our part in taking some kind of action - we would have regret. We don't like regret, so here we are.

This website will be fully restored in 24 hours. ..."

Brings back fond memories . I used to hand build and race 1/32 scale cars when I was a kid . Used a Chevy Chaparral body on my frame and liked to beat (try) the kids with Ford GT and Ferrari  bodies .It was fun and kept me out of trouble(kinda ) .But this video is insane . Way to fast , nothing but a blur . While interesting it doesn't seen like that much fun to me.

Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one - the gentle slope , soft underfoot , without sudden turnings , without milestones , without signpost's.

Nowhere near that fast but I am in process of re-building my 8x16' Scalextric layout....these things are still fun!

I had a 96' two-lane layout that I took apart and want to change to a ~64' four-lane layout.  Still working the details since I will need a few new pieces of track.

Used to do slot cars 45 or so years ago, do not think that I would want to get my hand in the way of one of those things.
