I have a new FLTRUSE with almost 600 miles.  It is very hard to start, spits and spews through the intake, stalls at throttle application, may die upon comming to a stop, or going around a corner, very dangerous when all leaned over in  the middle of a turn. It is cold an I almost. 70 years old . I also have 08 ultra classic an it runs perfect. I haven't taken it back yet just talked to dealer. Am I being BS about the ECM?
Any one else had a problem with driveability with the 110 CVO motor?

Not having seen it no way for any of us to know for sure.  Screwed up ECM could cause a problem; sure.  So could a variety of other things.  Only thing we know for sure is no one will know for sure.  Oh, yeah, two things we know for sure; that we don't know for sure and that it needs to get in the shop.  Good luck.

Definite warranty covered issue here. I took delivery of mine in December and it has run like a top since day 1. Too much invested to be putting up with this!

If dealer says its the ECM then they can grab one off another bike and mate it to your TSSM and load your CVO map into it and it should be good to go for a ride and the problems should go away.   If the they do dealer orders you a new ECM and away you go.

Some things that cause what your describing that I have run into are

Speed Sensor, Intake Leak, ECM issue.     Any codes in the speedo ?     hold the little black button down that does your odometer and turn the bike on while holding it in it will put you in a diagnostic mode then you can click through the sections and see if you have any codes.

It's a brand new bike, it comes with a two year warranty, and what you are describing is not only not normal or acceptable, it is dangerous.  Take it to the dealer, or have them come and get it with a trailer, and have them fix it.  If it's been doing this since you picked it up, you need to also kick that dealer's azz for giving it to you like that.  They are supposed to prep the bikes and do a thorough test ride before it's delivered to the customer.

Jerry, I answered the gentleman but it was (somewhat) tongue in cheek.  There's been several one post/first post wonders asking the most painfully obvious of obvious questions lately.  They often have similar formatting and syntax (or lacks thereof).  I think someone is screwing with us a bit.  It's not a big deal.  And, if not, the gentleperson can certainly introduce himself and say more.

Thanks for the reply. I am new to this an my first attempt to try this site. Iam sorry I don't know to much about doing this kind of stuff. I have been a rider 50 years +. Call me old school.  Have been an aircraft mechanic in the U.S Airforce in excess of 40 years. Worked for a honda / kawasaki dealership as a mechanic an service manager for several years. I am a licensed A&P,pilot,&ground instructor. I quit working on cycles in 1989 an went back to college for aircraft. maintenance technology. I have some medical problems. So I am really behind the on modern technology.  Just ask if any one had this problem. Thanks, Mitch.

I bought a 2012 CVO Street Glide in Sept and had similar problems, and have read that others here occasionally had similar issues.  Mine was not as bad as yours sounds like, but it was definitely happening.  I got a new fuel controller and completely eliminated those issues.  If you don't want to modify (pipes, ecm, etc), demand that your dealer take care of it.

After the first few thousand I spent on modifications on my new bike, my exasperated better half  asked two very relevant questions:  "What kind of sleazy company would sell a motorcycle for $35,000 that you need to spend $5000 more just to get it to run and feel right?" and "Who the hell would buy such a POS?" 

I love my SG, but am starting to understand that "Love/Hate" relationships that many hawg owners have with HD

 Up date on engine stalling. Took it in to dealer finally. Been sick in hospital but much better now.  Arrived after 180 mile drive, told them the problem and test drove it said there was no problem. ECM was the right one. Also did the recall on the brake switch. Waited for my Son to arrive for a late lunch. Started it up an spit an spewed through the intake, took off an first stop my boot touched the lowers. Full of air! So delayed my trip home an will be waiting  for them. I guess I need to show them how to bleed the rear brake.  I'm a little %&## off!
