I have been there and rode it, its great,and a very nice ride. Dont let the ride it fast guys bother ya and it is a good ride.
We stay in Pigeon Forge and plan our trip, you can take many round trip rides in that area and in the month of October the colors
are spectacular. 318 curves in 11 miles of mountain road will really sharpen your ridin. and the Cherohala skyway has beautiful
views, a nice all day ride.

October can be nice, but October brings short days and widely swinging temps. During the 06 rides we saw temps from 30-80.
And all that color brings it's own beauty - leaves - and too many on the road and frequently damp.

x2.  Those that have ridden the Dragon will probably agree the riders who have problems do one or both of the following: 1) exceed their skill level, and/or exceed the ability of their bike.  Having ridden the Dragon several times I'd never discourage anyone from riding it...just ride with common sense....and if you're on a HD...remember, it ain't a crotch rocket, so you'll never keep up with those guys...wave them around.

We rode from Tulsa, OK to the Dragon and back in Sep 2009.  Wife & I two up on our '05 Wideglide.  Awesome roads in the area.  I can't wait to go again on the FLHTCUSE6.

That video is from this weeks TV show - Hell Roads.

They are replaying it several times over the next week, so set your DVR for the entire show. (Discovery Channel)

It is awesome riding all up thru there , to include The Dragon .. Respect it and know your limits and you will have a great time ..
As mentioned , The weather up there can be erratic.. we got caught goin up to Clingmans Dome one time by a front and all but snowed up there .. Still had a good time but glad to get back down from 6600 feet ..

went with the CVO group in 09'. it was awesome, although one of our nice ladies went into a curve to hot (trying to keep up with the fast bunch and didn't make it. she slid along the side of the road and a very pretty SESG, went over the side. ALWAYS RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE, NO MATTER WHO YOUR RIDING WITH. :nixweiss:

take SBB advice and go during the week! tues,wed,thur! Cherola is really nice! anyone ever heard of Sherpards trail in KY mtns?
