D00d, the chance of all 07 Touring models being liquid cooled is equal to the chance of a snow ball surviving inside the underwear of an overweight prostitute for six years after she's already been dead and in hell.

Won't happen for '07, but it is coming folks, like it or not.  All you have to do is look at the problems H-D is having meeting the '06 EPA regulations without creating driveability issues, and then remember that the EPA regs get much tougher in '08 (Calif) and '10 (49 states).  I'm betting there will be at least one Touring model with a water cooled 1600 cc V-twin for '08, and they will all be water cooled in '10.

With a properly designed radiator (small, efficient, and unobtrusive), and vestigal fins on the cylinders like the V-Rod, the visual impact on a fairing equipped Touring model wouldn't have to be all that bad or obvious.  Back in the '80's I owned a water cooled V4 Honda, and the radiator wasn't an issue esthetically or functionally.  It would be nice to have better temperature control and a mechanically tighter and quieter engine, IMHO.

Damn - that will be a major breakthrough for the MoCo.  Does this mean we'll be able to ride more than 50 miles on a stock bike without pain?   ::)

That I completely agree with Jerry.  What they could do with the heat management and tighter tolerances could all make our time on the bike better.  I'm not one of the guys that dreads the idea of the change when it happens at all.  What I dread is Harley's first attempts at it.

Let's see,...  smooth to 120+, 45mpg, no front end shimmy, no rear end shimmy, handles like a sport bike (last time I was in Deal's gap, the fastest time riding the tail was by a local on a Wing!), lifts the front wheel easily, stereo and CB actually can be heard over the road noise AND talk to others, brakes that work, more storage than you know what to do with, trailers small cars, $5000 less to start with, enough chrome available to satisfy most OCD personalities, stock seat is comfortable, nav system built in.  Damn, too bad it still doesn't have any soul!!!  Best damn barcolounger on the road!

Dude,

I'm still waiting for them to get the air cooled version right - don't think I'll live long enough to wait for the liquid version to be "right".

Yeah Right!

About this time last year, someone was 100% sure the CVO Touring Model was a Road Glide, I wrote my first post on this forum and said no way.  When I look in my garage, Suprise!  There's a '06 CVO Ultra.

In '05 the MOCO told it's dealers that they would have an air cooled engine that would meet the '07 EPA standards by the 2006 model year.  Welcome the '06 Dyna!  And while the Softails and FL's had some driveability issues and struggled with injector changes, etc.  The new dynas have been trouble free.  Expect the rest of the big twins to get closed loop fuel injection and other changes the '06 Dynas have now.

Oh yeah, bigger engines too!   ;)

One last thing, I'm 85% sure seats will be included! ::)

Does this consider pizza joint waitresses in hot pants or ?  [smiley=ROFLOL.gif] [smiley=ROFLOL.gif]  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Think we've already done this horse in previously, see the threads on: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1123264508 [smiley=beatdeadhorse.gif]

I expect a call this weekend from one of the fortunate attendees in San Diego for the meeting. Hang onto your Corbin.
