dirty O2 sensors
« on: January 31, 2012, 06:04:20 PM »

Hey guys, I am in the process of changing my cams and my exhust and when I pulled my o2 sensors, the rear is really black and was wondering if I can clean them. What is safe to use to clean them? Thanks in advance.

I have used on automotive 02 sensors with good results,Berryman throttle body aerosol cleaner which states oxygen sensor safe.

There is really no reason to try and clean them. What you are seeing is the cover over the sensor as it's up under what is covered in black. That just shows the bike was running rich with fuel or has a oil leak in that cylinder. Once back together and tuned it will burn itself clean, in a properly tune condition.
