Well - I'l leave it at that. "Friends" tend to become strangers when money is involved.
Unfortunate but true.

You could (IMHO) get $500 on ebay for the set so that is a "fair" price.

Do what you feel is right (for your buddy)... but do it in an educated manor

Thanks, unfortunately the radio won't fit his bike, so I guess it will end up on ebay with some other stuff I think it's time to get rid of (lowers, stock height windshield etc.).

Got the HD painted lids back yesterday (will post pic's tonight) and they look great.  Ran into a little problem, switched the latches over one at a time, trying my best not to touch or scratch the lids.  When I go to latch the lids the latch wants to pop open on its own??  One side does it immediately after you latch it. I'm thinking it's because of the new lid gasket so I latched them and locked the latch so it would stay locked.  I'm hoping after a day of being latched they are okay.  Anyone have this issue before??  Taking the bike for the stereo and speaker install tomorrow!!

Yes Autumn Haze, the painter is a friend of mine, he actually works for Boitnot's.  If you went to calvalcade you probably seen his black Road Glide and his dad's Roadking, both won there respective classes.  Name is Jay Prather.  I'll try to post some pic's tonight while putting it on the trailer getting it ready to haul it to the stereo shop (Eastgate Line-X/ Pro Audio).  The guy at the audio shop does all of my painters wiring and stereo work and it looks like he does a great job so I'm letting him do my install.

What speakers did you decide on for the lids?

Going with a Clarion head unit and JL Audio speakers.  Will get the #'s today when I drop the bike off.  The speakers lids close and latched fine last night after a night of being latched.  I'm thinking the gasket just needed to be pressed a little.

Any pictures of the 5x7's in the lids?  I ask because HD uses a unique pattern for mounting the speakers in the lids.

Hacksaw you're just teasing me with those pics. Looking at going the same way but haven't done it yet. Again as I have posted that matching paint on the grills looks great.
