SERT Map
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:15:13 PM »

Went to dealer to examine the low rev limiter (seems to be about 5400rpm).  Was told by the tech that there is only one HD download for the CVO bikes and it was on mine.  Didn't take it any further.  This is the same place that told me I needed a new ignition to raise the rev limiter.

Anyway, I have purchased a SERT which has not arrived as of yet.  Are there any canned maps for the 2006 SE Fatboy included?  If not, is there a suitable map which can hold me over until dyno tuned?  Just wondering if any of you have had experience with the canned maps.

Thanks for all your help, the dealer has been about useless.

34302-06 is the part number for a dealer cartridge download or Digital Tech. that is the race download for the FLSTFSE stock motor with SEII slip-ons pipes. I don't know if the latest SERT cd has this download on it. I would like to find this out as I hae a need for it. My plan is to use this with the data logging feature and correct the VEs for the cells that are a little off as I am not using these pipes. This download has a better timing curve and higher redline.

Latest SERT only one map designated for SEFB:

Calibration #19: 2005 FLSTFSE
Configuration: 1690 CVO w/SE Mufflers
File Name: 105MK004-D0.MT6, 127MK004-B0.MT6
Components:
  SEII Shotgun Mufflers

Per the table:
127MK004-B0.MT6 for 2005-2005A ECM
105MK004-D0.MT6 for 2001-2004 ECM

Doesn't specify for 2006 SEFB but with the two separate calibrations, I imagine the 127 file would be the canned map to use.

Last year when i was playing around with mine I had a hesitation on accel with Cal # 19 so tried a few others & found it ran the best allround on Cal # 13 (without any dyno tuning)

Interesting.  The SERT I got comes with the "G" disk, and includes tune #36.  This is for the Ultra Classic SE 2006.  It specifies the 25 deg fuel injectors.  Do the 2005 and 2006 SEFB's have the same injectors?  8 or 25 or SE? :)  My scoot isn't here to look at!

Tunes 13 and 19 don't specify the injector size, and I assume they are written for the 8deg injectors.  I don't have the SERT program in front of me but if I recall correctly the 25 deg injector flow rates were less than the 8 deg and SE.  Man, the more I look into things the more confused I get.  At least I can just go ride and forget about it!

Awesome, thanks for the help, 5pm here in eastern US  :D.  Get this figured out sooner or later.

Greg

Edit: 2006 SEFB has the 25 deg injectors (not sure about 2005).  I'm going to compare the #19 and #36 maps to see if there is a deifference beyond the injector flow rate.

Greg,
The injectors are definately different the 05 ones are part # 27609-01 & the 06 ones are part # 27709-06. In fact there is nothing in the induction module that is the same between the 05 & 06. The 06 has a larger throttle body (46mm) which is one piece with the manifold & the 05 has a smaller (43mm) which has a seperate manifold

Thanks for checking that.  Guess I'll have to wait to get a custom map, or until one is released specifically for the 06.

Have a good day/night,

Hopefully time will solve some of these issues as tuners zero in on a great set up.

The dealer I am working with was on the phone this week with the MoCo and the tech line guy said it is only getting worse with the direction they are having to go with EPA regs.  Less and less adjustability on the MoCo side 2007 and beyond.

That is the one I'm told to be using on another thread for the SEUC.

There is no way I would expect good results using a CVO ultra map. The factory cal is set for the bagger pipes and there are some serious changes to the fuel and timing between cylinders that are not needed with the staggered pipes and slip-ons. All screaming eagle fatboys have the 25° injectors. and the proper download for the SE race (non-street legal) configuration is 34302-06 Injectors are marked 27709-06A FYI. The download I cite is available on the dealers Digital Technician, but I am not sure if it is on the CD
The equipment for that download would be stock motor and SEII slip-on mufflers.

There is no canned map for odd ball non harley pipes and all the yak in the world won't fix that. Maybe some download may appear to work OK but the bottom line is there is driveability, economy and power being left on the table.
The solution is to learn and use the SERT logging capability and apply the VE changes to the proper cells or find a dyno tuner that is sharp and thorough.

SEAC and SE 16 Gauge Double Barrel pipes.  All HD, you would think they would have a canned download on the SERT that could come close.
