King Tour Pac Radio Antenna Holes
« on: July 13, 2006, 07:56:36 AM »

For those of you who have the King Tour Pac with the pre-drilled out holes for the antenna base and are not using that setup, what are you filling or plugging those holes with? I sure wished H-D had not drilled these through!

Thanks -
John

Here is one simple and cheap solution.  The little emblem is even metal and not flimsy.  Works ok.

Y'know what Rog?  For as much as we (amazingly but semi-willingly) pay for some of this stuff; a three dollar emblem to cover a couple of big honking holes is just freaking cheap!  [smiley=drink.gif]

(sometimes cheap is good......)

Lots of good ideas here - http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1070504577/101#101

My husband plugged the holes with licence plate bolts.

License plate bolts - Great ideal!  Go with Skulls, HD Emblem, etc...

For an even larger selection check out one of the big Motorcycle catalogs...

JP Cycleshas a lot of interesting ones too, to include flowers that would light up.

No, really, I would not ask my husband to do whatever it would take so I could have little flower hole fillers on my hardly ever used tourpak.   Well - they are really the wrong color.

Check out  this Pacific Hot Rods site.  They got flames, dice, checkered flags, and of course led fasteners too.    :D

I used something like these decorative chrome bolt caps - bought them at a local auto parts store - 4 for a dollar (talk about cheap) and they look alright.

Someone painted theirs with their touch up paint.  Lots of ideas.

I like the flames...

2 1/4" carraige bolts, chucked in a drill, slow speed with a file and then various grades of wet/dri paper with water.

The bolts with the factory touch up paint kit.

For the larger top hole I cut a small piece of fuel hose (left over from the tank crossover) to act as a bushing to keep the bolt centered.

Looks great in the sun, the picture does not do it justice.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I really like the way the painted carriage bolts look. My thought was to get some hot topper insert plugs and paint with the factory touch up paint. I will probably either do that or the carriage bolt idea. It's ridiculous that we even have to do this. All H-D had to do was provide a template or have the holes marked inside from the factory.

Thanks again!
