Hogcovers clear lid covers
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:23:34 AM »

I realize if you never have a rider and never drag your boot over a bag lid then you may not be interested.  However, my short legged wife does not fit into this category,  saw these a few weeks ago in A. Iron,  Bagger & A. Bagger so I  purchased a set.

Have rode twice since receivng & she, as yet,  has not  even noticed them on.  Just thought I'd pass along the info.

www.hogcovers.com        might be worth a quick look if you have a lazy leg. .  :)

I had purchased at the MO Hog Rally a couple years ago the 3M type peel and cover for the lids, but even though they had a lifetime warranty, they are hard to replace because any slight dust speck will show up and ruin the install.

I just ordered a pair of the Hardcovers and will give them a try as well.  My wife has short legs and has left a few marks that I was able to buff out, but sometime I won't be that lucky.

Thanks for the post on the product.

If you guys dont mind let me know what you think of them, my wife is also "vertically challenged".  I am curious as to the fit and any movement when riding that may cause a rub on the lid.

Thank you.

Do you know if this will work on the lids with the stock CVO chrome strip? In the pic below.

I had that problem with my BSR on my first Ultra Classic back in 89.  It's simple enough......have her back up to the bike on the left side (the low side, when it's on the kickstand).....fold the back rest forward out of the way.  She steps up on the running board with her left foot and backs her butt into the seat and then swings her right leg over the folded rider's backrest to the right side floorboard.  You put the backrest back in the upright position and you get on.    Never a problem and once she got used to it, actually preferred getting on and off that way. :2vrolijk_21:

NO their web site indicates no use with any attachments on lid.

Thanks.  Suspected that would be the case, but did not see on the website.

Jill at Hogcovers went that extra step to get me a couple sets shipped to an APO military address here in Korea. Looking forward to receiving them soon. Told her I would post some pics for her as well.

That'll work, depending on terain and how much chit you've got loaded on the bike.  Sometimes, I'd have trouble getting it off the kickstand... :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

I've seen a lot of people do it that way though...it does work out well.
