Carbon Fiber Inner Fairing
« on: February 15, 2012, 12:40:27 PM »

Has anyone gone with a carbon fiber inner fairing to replace the stock one?  I'm looking at either one from Hell's Foundry or purchasing a stock inner and having it "dipped".  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You evil bastard.  The company offers that done in a candy red carbon fiber also.  I'm thinking that would look amazing on a 2000 SERG.  You evil bastard.  Sorry, didn't mean to be redundant.  But that inner has major cool factor.

That color would match up nice with my Autumn Haze/Antique gun stock. Thanks for the info.

@ BostonboyDH, that's exactly what I'm looking for!  My mechanic is talking to someone in CA that does this, so just getting a feel for how it would look on the 2010 Rum Runner.  I'm going this route, it looks hot!

Did they do the "dipping" process?  Was your fairing painted or stock, and how is it holding up?

If its hydrographics it doesn't matter if its finished or in finished. The carbon film (print) has no color. The color comes from the base they put down before it is dipped. In my business just about everything is dipped or color fusion. When I was building bench guns we had stocks dipped all the time in the carbon pattern.

All the parts were stock unpainted, and it was dipped. I had it done winter of 2008, I traded that bike in 06/2009 for my CVO but it held up well for the time I had it. The did have some problems with it as stated in previous post!    David
