When I moved to the Vancouver, British Columbia area from Alberta, I went to get my home owners insurance and my premium included "earth quake insurance" and I said WTF?, really and then I joked if there's going to be an earthquake and a potential tsunami I'm going to that mountain over there (Mount Baker in Washington), then I found out that it's a volcano, so I'm trapped!!!!!  :nervous:

I felt the same way when I was stationed at Whidbey Island. No escape route...ride that baby out.

JC sounds like a good time for an extended ride east!

I heard them say on 12/21 the earths gravitational force will shift and everyone and thing will fly off. I hope weather is permitting for a ride on 12/21 because I want to be on my bike when that happens and go WFO into space Screamin HELL YEAH!!!!!!Wow what an end!!!!! FACE

That sister in law comment was funny!!!! LMAO!

For some reason, I get a picture in my mind of Slim Pickens riding the bomb down in Dr. Strangelove...

It was on the news this week.....they're going to develop an early warning system of sorts for the volcanoes out here.  They said that Mt. Lassen should be the next one to go....... :nixweiss:

A local professor friend at Sonoma State who is a geologist has told me the Mammoth has the highest probability of erupting anywhere in CONUS.   He's spent years studying the area.

I'm predicting a big one happening within the next 30 years. I'll predict the same next year.

As long as I've lived in Cali it's the same. You'd think it'd count down from 30 so we should be down to about 9 years, since Loma Prieta was about 21 years ago.

Because of the Pacific tecktonic plate Cali grows in size with most quakes so after a real big one we might become mid-westerners.  :'(

The Hayward fault is within a 1/4 mile from my house.

Get your "Motor Running Head", out on the highway!

What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men

I have to watch more Doomsday Preppers.

Broken Glass by front door. Check

Firewood. Check

Knives. Need more knives, "You can never have enough knives!"

Methane gas for fuel. (Honey, where did I put my pig manure. In the kids closet!) Check

Line to make "Cat" snares. Check

Bottles for Molotov Cocktails. Check (Need to remain social!)

Hey Naitram,

At the time I worked as a consultant/contractor for BellSouth and/or Southwestern Bell.  Now I work at Stanford in the IT Dpt.

The dude the other night was using perfectly good booze for Molotov Cocktails...I almost cried.  ;)  Some of those folks on that show are EXTREME.  Entertaining though...

Perhaps a human generated type of eruption?  Nothing a little Gasex won't remedy!  :D  Wish it were as simple with techtonic plate movement.
