At what point should one consider a larger Throttle Body?
« on: February 18, 2012, 08:51:17 AM »

I am looking at This for Fall Layup. I am already riding this winter, never actually stopped.

A) Install DME TC590 CAMs. I have the updated Hydraulic CAM Tensioners and plate
B) DME install 1.6 & 1.9 Valves, HP Springs, CNC Ported and Polish my 03 SE103 Heads to best match his TC590 CAMs.
C) Install Fullsac x-pipe

So now the question arises, should I now consider changing out my 03 FLHRSEI2 SE103's OEM 45mm Throttle Body to somehting larger?
If I have improved the heads and the exhaust, isn't the TB now a choke point on the intake side?

Thanks

With the valve sizes you are running I would have your stock throttle body bored out to a 48 or check out a HPI 50 to 54 mm Throttle body.

Thank you Don. As always very helpful. I am always looking for The Why, not just a part number.

Cheers
