Question: Windshield and Listening to Music
« on: February 18, 2012, 06:50:40 PM »

All,

I have two separate questions that fellow owners may be able to help with.

1.  Is the tint on the windshield through the plastic?  I have a deep scratch that I would like to buff out, but want to make sure I do not remove the tint in just one area.

2.  What are your preferences for listening to tunes?  Do you load them on the Garmin unit and use its interface or use the AUX plug and amplifier where I guess you just hit play on the ipod and listen to the playlist or shuffle?

Thanks,

Paul

For those of you who are curious.  I hooked up the latest generation Ipod Nano.  The Nano has a radio in addition to an MP3 player.  It works just great with the stereo system and is extremely small.

The only real disadvantage is that you cannot change stations or playlists safely while on the road.

The boom speakers are worthless on the convertible, can't hear anything over 50 mph

A play list is in order as Tiny Dancer came on the radio while stuck at a red light.  Not good.  I find the speakers ok, I will have to try them with a half helmet versus full face.  However, I will probably yank the fairing when it gets hot so goodbye yellow brick road...

probably you have not got the ipod set high enough, i ride with an open face helmet , set the ipod to about 80% and can hear it just fine up to about 80mph, remember its a convertible not a street glide with 12 speakers, you have to compromise a little, mine is brilliant in every way , love to ride it with all the extras off and happy to ride with the on.

I will have to find out when all of the SNOW - SALT are gone. . .  :nixweiss:

the GPS has a few Mp3's loaded, but I mostly ride for the enjoyment of riding, not listening to music. :coolblue:
