Please keep in mind (remind her to keep in mind) that will reduce her lean angle considerably.  She'll most likely not notice that right away but after riding the bike for a year or so and she gets comfortable with it and leans into the turns a bit more then she'll notice it.  My wife and my Street Glides are both stock height and we both grind the floor boards.
She had a 04 Heritage that was lowered and she would scrap all the time.  Would scare the crap out of me but didn't bother her.

Scraping the floorboards is fine, as they give some, but scraping the floorboard supports is another matter entirely.  I would be sure to check underneath to see exactly what is scraping, if she scrapes...if it's the floorboard mounts, it's potentially a dangerous situation.

Your wife may want to check out the Women's Rider Network 3/20/12 - there's a great article and video by Legend Air Suspension.   Their marketing pitch is that they cater to lowering tour bikes for women.   The WRN is a great resource for women riders and the guys that care about their gals!   Kudos to your efforts to making the Street Glide work for her.   I'm on my fourth SG and wouldn't want to ride anything else.  Safe travels.

Picked up RR on 3/10, had a great 100 mile ride home, discovered I had no right brake LED, back to our local dealership for replacement assembly and the mods - full-sac header, V&H monster rounds, SERT, some widgets.    Still there because of the lots of rain we've had.  Visited today and started it up - good rumble.   Hope to get her home in a couple of days.  I've been following your posts since your got yours and was so envious......check out the "Paint Problems" new topic I posted for the full story!  Enjoy!

Today was the first real test my wife had on the SESG since it had been lowered.  We rode about 200 miles today on a mix of good and rough rodes.  She has a lot of confidence now that her feet are flat on the ground.  We stopped several times today where she had to back the bike up and had no problem in doing so.  She also said she was expecting the bike to be rougher but was really happy in the ride of the bike. We rode some really rough rodes today.  Had no problems with the curves either.  You know the saying "if mommy is happy everybody's happy ".  Well seems like everyone is happy at our house :pepper:  I will post pics of our bikes side by side to show just how much the bike was lowered.

Great mods on your scooter  :pepper:  I really like the sound of my Rinehart's with the V&H power duals.  Yesterday I got my Wild 1 Chubby 575 handlebars delievered.  I am also going to make some changes to the hydraulic clutch pull.  Post pictures of your scooter  ::)

I'm glad mom is happy, but I still can't help but be a little worried.  It is all too easy to become complacent, since nothing bad happened on a few initial rides where she is still feeling her way with a new bike.  But as we all know from personal experience, it doesn't take long before we take things for granted.  As long as she always remembers she is riding a significantly lowered bike, and rides well within the new limits imposed by those mods, things will be fine.  But when she becomes complacent and overcooks it going into a high speed curve with a few bumps in the middle, all that extra lowering can make the difference between just white knuckles and an elevated heart rate, and sliding down the road shedding skin (or worse).

It's none of my business of course, but I'd feel remiss if I didn't mention my misgivings.

Glad she's happy, but like Jerry, I feel the need to err on the side of caution.

Here's a thought:  You and and one of your buddies get the bike out in the driveway and maybe put something under the bike like an old blanket...lay the bike over to either side while your wife looks to see what parts hit the ground first.  My bet is that the floorboard supports will hit well before anything else.  At least then you'll know for sure and take it from there.

One thing is certain...do not put the spacers on the floorboard brackets (like the ones Kury and others make) to move the boards out further for more right knee room...they would just compound the issue.
