new rear tire question again DUNLOP D407 180/55B18

were and what have you all been replacing the DUNLOP D407 180/55B18 with and were can i buy one

That is the tire I have on the rear of my SERG3.  First set cupped badly and HD replaced at 9,000 miles.  Got 17,000 miles out of my second with no issues.  So, that is what I used for the third.  As far as I know you can still only get these through the dealers.  Got mine from Rebecca at Tri County HD, 20% off. 

I know some guys have gone Metzler ME 880.  Had them on my '04 RG.  Nice tire but not the same load nor mileage.  I'm not sure but I think Avon has something too.  Others will know.  Good luck.

You might check this out, I run the American Elite. they work for me, and you don't need a HD dealer to get them .

American Elite do not come in 18" sizes.   :(
