Anyone know anything about the new Fullsac X pipe?
« on: February 24, 2012, 06:03:12 PM »

I called today to order my stage one kit. Was bummed out to find out that there is a 5 week wait for the standard X pipe. They mentioned they have a new version that is showing some good numbers, but they have no map as of now. I would have to use map to other X pipe and tweak it myself. The question of the day is..... wait for tried and true or go for the new?

there's plenty of discussions about the "X" pipe here in the Exhaust Section.  So what is this new Fulsac pipe all about??

You really want to v-tune whatever calibration you use anyway, to get it right for your bike, so why wait?  Just v-tune one of the TTS base calibrations.

Steve's taken a cue from Bill Gates: "improve" your product so everyone who's already using something of yours will want to "upgrade".  :-)

The new "C" Pipe is a constant 1.75" design. The concept is to slow the velocity of the Exhaust Gases down to 280-300. The pipe was originally destined to assist with tuning the 120s. The pipe was then tested on the 110s and is showing excellent #s. What those #s are, I do not know as of yet. I can tell you, I heard  it personally from Doc, take the C Pipe if you can get your hands on one and we'll tune you up.

My pipe will be here Thursday. My appointment with Doc is Saturday during Bike Week.

I just need my bike to get here!!!! Shipped from HD today...

so basically, what they've done is gone from a Rinehart styled stepped header to a Vance and Hines style one-size header....So now that's basically a ceramic coated version of the V&H Power Dual? :nixweiss:

Except still with a more-proper "collector" than just blasting the two pipes through each other like FM's?

I'm not a Fullsac user, V & H all the way.

But, isn't Bill Gates giving back to the world something like $30,000,000,000 and didn't he get Warren Buffet to do the same thing?

Fullsac, I'll be keeping my eyes open for your Philanthropic donations from your product improvements.

I will be ordering my "c" x-pipe and stage one kit Monday morning. I emailed Steve and he said the bike will run great with a "B" map and when he gets the updated maps he will send one. Riding season is too close to wait 5 weeks :orange:

So does the straight 1-3/4" have an advantage over the stepped pipe?  I always thought that was the way to go.   :nixweiss:

Stepped or not stepped is a matter of the build components. As far as who did it first I think that Cycle Shack and HD did it long before anyone else, so if your worried about who copied who, better look to those that did it first. Better yet, look to see who is building them right as that should really be at the top of your list for it to work right in your application.

You have to ask how it is he got that money in the first place.  What is by selling a good product at a fair price or was it by strongarming folks into using inferior junk?

Fullsac's in a much higher league.

And there in lies the problem, Steve.  Every manufacturer is going to tell you that they make their's right, otherwise they wouldn't sell.  For the average motorcyclist that isn't a total gear head, we don't know which one is the "right one". So without spending a lot of money to test out all the different pipes out there, or going with the recommendations of the dealer, or independent tuner/builder, who's is the best for what application?  I can go to different dealers or tuners and I will get a different answer.  Some say, Vance and Hines, others will say S&S, but invariably, they all go with the major manufacturers that they are familiar with.  Unfortunately, Fulsac, which isn't up in the "big leagues" yet, doesn't have the exposure, except in here, that the big manufacturers do.  I have the X pipe on my SESG and love it, but yet my dealer/dyno tech, questioned why I bought it over the V&H Power Duals, because they didn't know about Fulsac and had never seen their product.  So I guess my point is, it's all subjective.  You will, and should, claim that you have the right combination/build.  If you don't, you're out of business.  No slight to anyone, that's just doing business, but determining the who builds the right product for which application, is difficult at best.  You pick a product based on others, who have no vested interest, recommendations, and hope it's the best for your situation.   JMO...
