Help spend my refund check.
« on: February 28, 2012, 11:18:30 PM »

I am getting a little back this year  :pepper: and thinking of doing one of two things. 1. New wheels, 21" replica blade from renegade up front and stay with the 18" blade on the the back. Or 2, performance stuff. Cams, fullsac header exhaust and head gaskets.(either way I need tires, front and back) What do you think?

You've already got a 19" front, right?  And you like the looks of the stock wheels?  On a touring bike that is used for something other than bar hopping, I don't think a 21" tire on front is a good direction to go.  That's my opinion.

Even if you don't do cams, just doing the Fullsac Stage I system with the TTS will provide more "fun" and a more enjoyable ride.  The cams add a little more fun.

I'd go tires first, for safety reasons, then a little into the exhaust with Fullsac's new pipe, see what's left then decide on the motor upgrades, wheels are nice but I'd save them until last, jmho, have fun though, you're lucky to get money back, lol. :2vrolijk_21:

How about taking your refund and invest it in Harley stock (HOG).

If you invested $7K in Apple stock in 2003, today yould have over $545K.

Wasn't HOG stock in 2003 about $60? If you bought $7K worth then you would have about $5500 now.  :(   Get the cams, exhaust and tuner and go have some fun :)

Timing is everything.  In spring '09 Harley stock was less than $7 a share, today it's over $47.  So a $7K investment in Harley then would be worth $47 K today!

I would do new rubber, Fullsac stage I, and the 30T upgrade. I've done all of this plus cams and if I could only afford one I would, and did, the 30T first. Definately a huge seat of the pants upgrade, and way better off the line. JMHO

If I were you, I'd invest in better suspension front and rear - Progressive Monotubes or Traxxion AK20's in the front and Ohlins or other quality shock in the rear. What does it matter if you can go fast but your bike handles like crap. JMHO...........
