Utah Highway Patrol

I was in Salt Lake at the ALMS races and saw these two trooper bikes, here's a couple of pics and they have a great looking UHP logo on the fairing

The two bikes

Cool bikes.  But why would they go to the trouble of making them look that sharp, with color matched helmets; and still leave that ugly mismatched tour pak on the back?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The helmets are two-toned, and the only place I see that brown color is on the tourpak. So maybe that is there for a reason? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Guess it matches their pants, like their helmets? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Like the emblem on the front though   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Didn't even notice the lower half of the lids.  Well hell, they're probably all color coordinated after all.

I think you are right, I have a shot of them on the bikes and I bet they have the dark brown bloused pants.

If so that's pretty cool.  I honestly don't try to ask a lot of legislatures and their use of my tax dollars.  If they occasionally amuse me and generally do no harm I figure I'm money ahead.  But any state that will spring to make it's motor officer look sharp on color coordinated motors is ok in my book.

These guys were in on the parade lap and did minor crowd control and got us all out of the track at the end in great shape and quickly, no 3 hour waits but then again it wasn't a NASCAR event with 100,000 plus people either.

I had it backwards, dark shirts and tan pants which actually works better to get the contrast of the Motor officer high boots.

OK, seeing the officers mounted on the bikes completely explains the tour pak color though.  I like Utah even better already.
