Decision on 2010 CUSE
« on: March 03, 2012, 01:06:48 AM »

Well I missed the boat on a beautiful 2009 Silver/Blue CVO, as one opportunity slips thru my hand another one has sprung up. It's a 2010 Silver/Blue CVO at 28K but it has 18400 miles on it, and this concerns me a little bit, should I be, or am I over reacting? I would like to find a nice CUSE with under 10,000 miles. I know people ride the heck out of their CVO's with very little trouble, but for some reason I would like my CVO to have very low miles. Do you think this is a big concern.

I think that's pretty low mileage for a 2010 CVO, I think most people that own these ride quite a bit. JMO

Under 20,000. No problem in my mind. The bike has enough miles now, so most of those new bike bugs have been worked out. You should get many more miles of pleasure from that one. I don't know where you are, but in the 3rd party section there is a 2010 with 2,700 miles on it.

Thanks for that info Wrongway, I'm in Ca and to bring a bike into Ca. it has to have 7500 miles on it before you can bring it into this state.

I was talking to a local harley dealer today and they were saying that the CVO 110 motors have crankshaft issues. This is news to me, can anybody
tell me if this should be a problem with a CVO with 18400 miles. I'm sure if you bust a crank your talking serious $$$ for repair. (There maybe a little humor in that last sentence).

Thought I would include a photo of the CVO.

So buy it and take a cross country road trip before registering it on the way home.  :2vrolijk_21:

All Harley's have issues but not all Harley's have the same issues. I have a 2009 CVO and I have had minimum issues. Maintain your scoot and enjoy it. If a crank issue arises I'm not sure your going to be able to prevent it.

I believe some have had work done to theirs though.

I have a good friend in Lakeland that could check it out for you! You could fly into Tampa & take the long way home. No better way than to break it in yourself. That's only a 4800 roadtrip to get to that 7500 mile number you need to bring in into california.

Good choice of color for 2010 CVO.

I'm sure everyone would agree this was the best color combo for 2010 as well as the most rare with only 569 made.

I have over 35,000 miles on mine with no major problems.

Agreed. I only have 9000 miles on mine but have zero problems with it. Bike is awesome. Not just because I have one but I think the Riptide Blue/Titanium Dust is the best color combination and most eye appealing of the 7 years of CUSE's. Colors and engine blend perfectly. Try to haggle on price and get an extended warranty for piece of mind. Good luck!

I bought a red 2010 CUSE5 a couple of months ago with 18k miles on it, I paid 24 k for it. My bike is still under warranty until April at which time I am going to buy the ESP for it. There is a thread in the group buys section about a dealer who sells the ESP at a pretty good discount. If the mileage bothers you I would say just buy the extended warranty and ride on.

The color is nice. But your statement is rather subjective.  If you want to talk facts...the 2010 1/2 Black is the fastest.
