I did replace my headlight bulbs...purchased the PIAA H9 & H11 extreme white bulbs...big difference....I'm also using the H9 bulbs for both low and high beams....low beam is an H11 55W...the H9 is 65W

Scratching my head are you using the H9 for both or H11 for low and H9 for high?  Sorry a little confused on what you meant. I haven't been in the light yet but there are only two bulbs I think a low and high.

Don't remember which is which.   But you do née one of each.    When you take it apart you will see which goes where.   The stock bulbs look yellow next to these.   You won't be sorry.

The "high" number is the low beam.  So H9 is high beam and H11 is low beam.  Using two H9s is a pretty common retro though.   With most of the HID kits the H9/H11 entire family of bulbs is actually universal.  Just packaged per the original bulb number so it won't confuse the customers.

I did used an H9 65 W high beam bulb in the upper low beam section...you do have to modify the upper H11 plug to work with an H9 bulb....but well worth the additional lighting...

You can alter the bulb rather than the housing.  Just in case.  Works fine either way though.

Just a tiny bit of grinding with a Dremel or even work with a file.  Hold the bulb next to the socket.  What you'll need to be is obvious.

Sounds good for the price of these bulbs you would think they're gold plated.

I didn't modify anything. Went right in easily.  Id order the h9 and h11 and just pop them right in. The headlight is marked so u can't miss

Do any of you have a before and after picture - is the bulb simply whiter, or whiter and brighter?

The cost of these is about 1/2 of a HID upgrade - which is the way I am presently leaning.

A lotta guys swapped out to HIDs. I did after the gold plated PIAA popped the 2nd time on the road. :( Try to find a H9 on a road trip.
There is no comparison in brightness. Light output is nothing short of spectacular. You won't be sorry.
