 Is anyone is not going to make a major purchase like a car, house, motorcycle, next year just because it is 2013?

If Julius Caesar would not have introduced "leap year" back in the day of the Romans, it would now be something like June or July of 2013, so according to the Mayan calendar, the world should be gone by now.
