HD Seasonal Products - Where to Buy?
« on: March 08, 2012, 07:06:49 AM »

I just found this out recently while looking for HD Half Helmets.
My significant other of 40 years wants a Woman's Diva Helmet, 98376-10VW and I am looking for a Hybrid Ultra-Light, 98293-10VM

I have been told by two HD Shops that the "V" represents "Seasonal". The products are sold for a specific season and when they are gone, they can no longer even be ordered.
Has anyone else heard of this before?

Does anyone know of a place that mat still sell some of these "Seasonal" item?

Did you ask or will your dealer do a dealer search in their network to see if any dealers have them still in stock? You may also want to check eBay.

I have asked 3 HD Dealers so far betwen ME and NH. So far they have all told me that they "Cannot" order a "Seasonal HD Product".
It does seem strange to me that HD would mfg a collection of products that cannot be ordered.

As I understand it the tac 10VM also represents MFG/Released in 2010.

Try St Paul HD.  As DooD said, ask you dealer to do a search of the other dealers.

Thanks for the info.
I know my local HD Dealer could care less.
Maybe one of the others has better service.

Do a google search by the exact part number you are looking for. Also search ebay. A lot of the seasonal stuff shows up there either new or being resold. In the HD clothing part number world, the digits after the dash do mean the year of manufacture. I find that very helpful in asking for discounts on older inventory clothing. I still see FXRG stuff in stores that is several years old. The M stands for Men's and the W for Women's. Wasn't aware the V stood for seasonal. I'll check with my sources.

The first link has a significant old stock discount.  Hopefully these sites will represent actual rather than phantom stock.  Good luck.

I've run into this quite a few times, I seem to always want the hard to get stuff. Its part marketing, keeping things looking different so customers get that "custom" look and feel. Plus it simplifies the store's product inventory. stores are forced to sell what they have, instead of ordering 1000 of the same item.

Go to LSHD1.com, They have both helmets. Surdyke.com has the mens helmet.

I hope this helps!

Thank You Don

;D - I stopped by a local HD dealers while out for a ride with my neighbor yesterday.
Shocker, they had my significant other's exact choice, HD P/N On Sale. Marked down fro $150 to $58.
I bought it and a net to strap it to the rack.
