tenth digit is an indicator of the year.

Anyone know how to decode the VIN?

It's fully explained in the shop manual for the bike.  These days VIN numbers are a regulated item and there is a standard format, but you still need the codes to interpret everything.  I don't have a late model manual handy, so I'll defer to someone who does.

I work in an Independent shop and I use this one every day!

No affiliation!  I found it several years ago using google in a moment of frustration at not having all the parts books!
