I didn't get them on my street glide either.  I have seen them on road glides.  I don't think I would like the look.  They are right out there by the lowers. Maybe a taller windshield.   I definitely sit lower on my seeg. I will say that this bike is really smooth tho.

I'm with you Stu.......the looks of that thing is pretty disapointing. :nixweiss:

With the between fork wind deflector, and the taller windshield, I get very little coming up from the road now.  I don't want it totally gone, especially with summer coming on - I will want some air moving through the pocket.

I went with the 10" HD Wind Splitter - P/N 57400092.  I rolled some accessories into the bike when I bought it, so that is why I went this this one.  I am 5' 9" and can see over the top, and it pushes the wind above my forehead, and hits me at the very top of my helmet.  It says it's smoked - but it's clear IMO.  I can feel the wind more on the fairing, but it's surely out of my face.

I know there are several after markets that look about the same, but this one actually extends wider than the mounting holes on each side, and keeps the wind from wrapping around.  It works well for me, and we do get lot's of gusty winds in Texas.

You don't really notice them on the RG because of the way the fairing is shaped...they're pretty much hidden unless you're looking for them.  They work on the RG though.

Stu, I have the Windvest 8" and I'm 6'4".  It's worked fine since late 09. :2vrolijk_21:

I definitely agree that those deflectors don't look good, that is why I was wondering if anyone had them on the SG.  I rode a black and a ruby before I bought my citrus and I would have noticed those.

Possum, can you post a picture of your bike with the wind deflector?  I would really like to see what it looks like on your bike. Thanks, Raptor.

The deflectors don't come on the SESG, they were designed for the RG's and first came standard on the '11 SEURG.  They are functional on the RG's.  Not sure how functional they would be on a batwing'd faired bike.  Different airflow characteristics.  I put the adjustable fairing wind deflectors on my SESG.  They work great, and you can choose the amount of air you want to get through or not.

That's what I thought but Dirtdobber said his SG came with them and the picture is of a SG. :nixweiss:  The agree the adjustables on the fairing do work very well, I had them on my SEUC.

I'd still like to see a picture of a bike with the "between the fork" wind deflector if any one can post one, the picture from the MoCo sucks.

I will try to take and post one tonight - maybe someone will have access during the business day to knock out before me - it's very simple to install.  I am looking at the wind deflectors for the fairing also, more for directing air towards me when it gets warmer.

The Harley picture isn't half bad - I will still post one later.

Possum, I would appreciate it! :2vrolijk_21: I have a set of the bat wing deflectors that will be going on but want to see what the fork one looks like before I drop the coin on one.  You won't be disappointed with the adjustables, they really do help in the summer.

Thanks again,

I have a 12 SEUC7 with the HD 10" wind splitter windshield installed, this helped alot with redirecting the wind just above my head as I'm 6' tall, but the wind buffeting coming from below on both sides of the gas tank was really annoying for me.
As suggested here, I got a pair of those black plastic FLTR wind deflector #57000063 for $39 cdn
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448775791&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309449808&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309449808&locale=en_US&bmUID=1331907390652&bmLocale=en_US
All I can say is this works really good, as it reduced the buffeting by nearly half, so now I still feel some buffeting but it's much calmer and not annoying anymore.
Installation takes just 30 seconds as they simply snap over the top of the crash bar, and only rub on the batwing's plastic side air deflectors when parked with the forks turned all the way either left or right. I will probably trim them a bit on each side so they dont touch anymore when parked.

I really can't see using those at all. I'm leaning toward the adjustable deflectors that mount on the side of the fairing. The 9" is as tall as I want to go.  Not sure what else is left.  :nixweiss:

In my opinion, they make NO difference to the buffeting at all.  :(  Neither does the between-the-forks baffle, or different screens; I've got 'em all! The buffeting comes from the later design of lowers, and the RG gizmos - ugly as they are - are the only things likely to help.  :nixweiss:

Took these in the garage last night, so the light conditions aren't great.  Also shows the rain on the chrome that needs to be cleaned off this weekend.

Pic #1:  From the front.  You can see the orange of the bike reflecting up off of it.  It is really unobtrusive from both the front and side.  Two bolts and your done - I reused the two bolts that were already holding the chrome between the forks in place.
