I always lock the forks that way if someone wants to steal it they have to pick it up or push it around in circles. Easier to push into a truck if you leave the forks unlocked even if the alarm goes off.

Not hijacking the thread but rather more on the same topic of locking the bags and tourpak.....When I got my 09 SE4 used I thought the fob for that stuff was pretty cool. As it turns out the tire had rubbed through the wires on the R/H bag and every time I thought it was locking things up the right bag in fact was not locking at all. So I thinks , Okay, I'll just use the key until I can get it in to get fixed, well guess what, there is only one slot for key insertion/removal so you still need electrical power to lock the bags because when you insert the key to lock it and turn it back to remove they key it unlocks again (at least it did on mine), there needs to be another slot to allow for key removal in the locked position.

Doug,   I think I understand what you're trying to say,  but there is only (one slot) on my '09 Ultra too.   You put the key in and turn it 90 degrees left to lock it and turn it 90 degrees right to unlock it (or vice-versa).   I just tried mine.   It does "sound" like the electric power kicks in when you turn the key,  but it should "lock/unlock" with the key regardless.
