Running Lights??
« on: March 20, 2012, 10:29:57 AM »

So I have had my 2012 CVO SG in Red/Maroon for a couple of weeks now.  I am struggling with deciding on whether or not to add running lights to the front.  Problem is I like both looks.  Clean looks good but I also think NorthGeorgiaHawg's Citrus SG looks awesome also with the running lights and rings added.  Just looking for opinions and thoughts to help me decide one way or another.  Thanks.

Well, if you like the clean lines of a SG but you want more light up front, you might consider the driving lights from Kuryakn or Headwinds.....both are very nice and aren't as obtrusive as the Ultra Classic driving lights.

Don't like the looks of the Kuryakyn's too much but those Headwinds look real nice.  I like the positioning of them.  Thanks for that JCZ.

Motolights are also an option to give more light and a low profile.

I like the headwinds lights. I'll be putting them on after my 2 into 1 exhaust comes in from Jackpot/FuelMoto.
What I am not sure of is mounting the switch on the console. I want a stock HD switch but have not done any real research on cost and wiring headaches/issues.
I don't like the lights that mount on the calipers.
This is my $.02.

The more lights the better for safety purposes.  I have the MotoLights also on my SEUC.

I am very happy with my setup. I went and installed HID in the 7 incher fairing light.
Now i am not happy with the color difference. So be careful if you plan to upgrade to better lighting and you decide to add the spots
My solution for the spots will be to add LED bulbs in the them so i have pretty much the same color spectrum.
I did it more for looks thank anything else, as the LED bulbs wont do jack shyte for lighting
I was going to put HID's in spots, but didn't like the fact that i would have to drill a hole in assembly, along with the fact of trying to stuff 2 more ballasts in the fairing.
But in my opinion, the HID in the 7 incher alone is plenty, and an excellent choice.

All about choice. :pepper:

I agree.....if I were going to do it, Headwinds is who I'd go with.  But with HID, just haven't found it necessary......and so I get to keep the clean line of the Street Glide on the front. :2vrolijk_21:
