Hey Angry Pirate, do you have some more photos of your bike, i.e. front, other side, love to see them. Ride looks sweet! :2vrolijk_21:

Here you go! Took the passenger pegs and mounted them to the engine guard.

I had the bars and pegs on, but they really got in the way and i didn't have room for my feet when on the standard pegs.  The biggest issue i had was trying to brake, sometimes my foot wouldn't be able to apply the brake fully without a wiggle to miss the bars.  I wasn't comfortable with that so they are on the work bench..

Which bars did you have?  Linbey?  They say on the web site that they are not designed for forward controls.  I went with the HD engine guards because they fit and were about $150 cheaper.  Changed the look of the bike a little but really paid dividends for comfort on the 5 day ride to Sturgis in 2010.  I had allot of bad luck with this bike trying to use aftermarket parts that don't really fit or work as advertised; Windvest windshield, Ghost Bracket saddlebag mounts, Kuriakin pegs...etc.  The only aftermarket part I have that is top notch is the Danny Gray seat.

I installed the HD heal rests at the same time as the engine guard with pegs and I think I could actually make it fine with just those.  But I nave never got around to taking the guard off.  The heal rests really reduce stress in your legs since you don't have to remain tense, similar to foot boards accept you can adjust the angle of heal rests.

JMHO but putting crash bars on a CVO springer is like installing mud flaps on your ZR1 corvette. That goes for windshields too.  If you want more comfort, get a RG!   :wall:

If the mudflaps have the naked girls outline in chrome that would be pretty cool on a Z1!

Agree with dlaws01, but some folks just can't have or don't want more than one ride so they have to improvise  :nixweiss:  :bananarock:

But the detachable windshield for the Cross Bones works well on the CVO Springers.
