New SE Logo muffler tips
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:25:50 AM »

As I mentioned elsewhere, I was sick of the chrome peeling off the muffler tips I like, so when I spotted that the MoCo had new ones with the Screamin' Eagle logo, I decided to try them on my 65115-98B mufflers, even though they were not listed as compatible. They fit just fine though.

Those are 3½" Lou, but they do the same one in 4" as well.

Do you think SE did the black tips so they could copy Rinehart's?

No, I think they did it because of the complaints about peeling chrome!  :D

Let's hope they don't turn "Rinehart purple"....  :nervous:

That's exactly what they make you think of, isn't it?  Wonder if they'd fit 'em?

Looks like such a copy I bet they are made by the same people.  Still looks very good though!

Same pipes and same tips here.  I replaced the peeling chrome twice before.  I kept the last pair and had them blasted so I have other options now.  I like the SE logo on the caps.  :2vrolijk_21:

You are plainly a man of taste!  :2vrolijk_21:

The peeling chrome is a disgrace, JW.  I've replaced three times, and kept them all - some would peel in a matter of weeks!  I was snapping up all the cheap NOS ones I could find on ebay.  :D  I thought about getting a set powder coated black, then these came along.

That is exactly what I was having done with mine (and the reason they were blasted to bare aluminum).  As they say, "Great minds.........."

Can't hurt we're both named Jim either  ;)
