Nice, thanks for posting. I also "use" my glove boxes and may copy your process. Come to Texas and you can cave man here! Once again, thanks for a good post.

I cut it at the joint between the reflector and the lens. I used  a die grinder with a cutting wheel and removed material on the reflector part of the lens ONLY. I then used a big cut off wheel to clean up the edge to completely flat right at the old glue line. Easy simple. I may yet use some clear sealant to make it water proof inside, but as of now I just reused 3 of the 4 screws that held them in before. It takes a bit of fitting to get them right, I put one of the lenses in the 'snap in cover', snapped in place and then traced it with a pencil the best I could then pulled the cover off and line up the lens to the tracings and put in a screw in it and then put the cover back on and if it looks good add the rest of the screws (3 total per lens) Then repeat the steps on the other lens and u r done. It was easy!!
