How does my upgrades rate???
« on: March 28, 2012, 11:52:45 PM »

I own a 2006 FLHTCUSE w/ 35k.  Just got done with the dyno.  I added a supertrap supermeg 2:1, Direct Link Key ECM tuner, Big Sucker A/C, 585G gear cams, new pushrods and valve spring kit, heads decked .030 to get comp to 10.2.1.  The builder had problems getting the exhaust to work for him, or so he says....  HP is 89, TQ is 88.  I think that is pretty low... any ideas?  thanks

Some things to consider:

(1) How does it run, based on the butt dyno, compared to before the mods?  Big improvement, somewhat better, no change, etc.?

(2) Do you have a pre-mod dyno run on the same dyno?  It's possible this is a "stingy" dyno that doesn't give out high numbers like others.

(3) Is the builder also known as a good tuner?  Many builders have someone else do the tuning;  it's hard to excel in every area.

(4) Did he start with a canned map that was close to begin with, or did he start from scratch?

Since I ride the same mc I have to say your #'s suck.

When I 1st made changes I did the Screamin Eagle Exhaust, Screamin Eagele air cleaner & HD Race Tuner (2006)  The motor made 93hp 101torq.  I ran it that way until I lost the Rear inner cam bearing at 30k miles.

It's new build with 10.25 compression, some head work, YB13 gear drive cams & Elite D True Duals, TTS is 103hp & 114 torque

Something is amiss big time with your build or tune

The 585 are high-end cams.  At what RPM did you reach peak HP and Torque?
