New to the Forum.  Silly Question..
« on: July 21, 2006, 07:11:08 PM »

Hi All,

Just registered yesterday.

I'm giving up an 02 FLSTS and an 05 FHLTCUI for the new 07 FLHTCUSE2.

I'm getting the first one at my dealer in September.

It's probably a silly question to ask, but, Am I going to miss my 05 Ultra?  The 07 just looked too awesome to pass up on.

Flying Ace,
Welcome to the site. Only thing you are going to miss about your other bikes is that you'll find yourself spending more money on these (especially now that you've joined here). [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Don't let that bother you though it happens to the best of us.

Welcome to the site.  There are no silly questions.   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  You've come to the right place to ask them though.  As everyone will tell you, we'll help you spend your money to get your ride just they way you want it and then some.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  My guess is after you've logged just a few miles on the '07 you'll never look back.   [smiley=banana.gif]

I don't know what "MV" is?  Could someone elaborate?

Thanks for all of the nice replies. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I'm a bit concerned with the special equipment on these bikes as well as the '07 110" engine, if anyone encounters any issues when it comes to service at the dealers.

It often seems that we know more about our bikes thand the dealers do at times.

One other thing.  The leather tour pak, does it have less room than the stock unit?  It looks a little higher than stock but not as roomy.

Anyone have pics of the inside of theirs that they can share?

MV is Maggie Valley, NC where a hundred of your newest and bestest friends are meeting.  http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1133449040/15#15.  Be there, it will be a blast.

I don't have any pic of the inside of it, but I have a great pic of the best location for the leather tour-pak  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I guess that would answer the question about it being a little higher. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

BTW - I've seen that rack advertised somewhere (I forget where/brand I surf internet to much and have CRS) and thought it was nice. Thanks for the shot of it in use. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I had an '04 Ultra Classic.  I did a big bore kit with cams, stage 1 filter, and the HD download.  I felt that the '04 was a strong bike, but sold it to get the '06 FLHTCUSE.  I thought that I could learn to live with the '06 CUSE with it stock, but I've given up and given in.  I've order the D & D Fatcats with the ghost pipe, I'm doing the K & N filter, and I'm going with the SERT (Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner).  I'm hoping to be happy with this arrangement without going into the engine.

It would be nice to think that the new HD engine with the 110 in the SE bike would make a person a happy camper without modifications.  I'll look forward to seeing reports on the new bikes when members buy 'em, ride 'em, and post the results of their experience.

It's not a silly question.  This is the place to get it answered.  I wish I had known about this site when I was shopping for the '06 CUSE.
