Favorite and Worst Options for your CVO
« on: March 30, 2012, 08:27:26 AM »

With all these iPOD threads/problems, as well as others, I got to thinking about what are our Favorite and Worst options that we've added to our CVO's.

I have so many thoughts I wonder what you all think but the iPOD qualifies for both catagories and depends if you ever have had problems with it or not.

Air temp gage.  ;)

Yeah, we're riding an air cooled bike and they can't give us an oil temperature gauge.   Somehting we couild use.

The problem is the MOCO thinks we are too dumb to interpret an oil temperature gauge.

The best/worst thing I'VE added, or the best/worst thing HD has added?  If it's the HD version...the inconsistant IPOD is a bit of a PITA.  And they could do a Sirius/XM module instead of just XM.  They could also make the gas tank easier to get full, and the gauge at least a little more accurate.

I don't add anything to my bike that is not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the most significant is upgrading the suspension front and rear.  Second would be the Fulsac system.  Third would be better lighting.

I have never seen a combination Sirius/XM module....I think it is either one or the other.....

It's what they call them...you either get a subscription to XM or you can get one to Sirus/XM.  It's really just the Sirius module that we need, like in my car.  Sirius has their channels, plus the XM channels, but XM does not have some of the Sirius channels.  It sucks for two reasons...one, you can't get the Sirius channels on the XM module, and two, you don't get the discount for having two subscriptions.  They treat them as two seperate things...at least that's what they told me.

I should rephrase the statement to say:  Change the module to allow the Siruis/XM subscription.  That seems to be the way things are moving in autos.

Best thing Harley added was a killer sound system.  The worst was using chitty components in the system and rendering it completely worthless/useless.

The best thing I've put on I guess would be the garage door opener.  Use it every day.  The worst thing is probably a tie between a Cobra Powrpro, only because I'll end up trading it for a TTS,  and getting a skull horn cover.  What was I thinking???

I stopped using XM or Sirus because when riding in the mountains along the bottom of large trees or rock walls the signal would drop.  Sometimes for minutes.  Also in the city around tall buildings.  A real PITA.  now I use MP3 or iPOD for music.  I miss the variety of channels and some of the talk radio programs, but it was too often to make it worthwhile.

For those who want to use it, I agree; they should combine their programming.

Every time I get fuel I just shake my head.  Maybe if the fuel door on my 2010 SESG would open up past 90 degrees I wouldn't get all kinds of muscle cramps holding the fuel nozzle in place.

I can get 6 gallons in at certain stations, not the ones that have "updated" to the vapor recovery nozzles - those are a PITA  >:(
Of course the venting on the tank isn't the best either -- I never had these issues with the '06 Ultra with the 5 gallon tank.
