Small, compact travel bike cover options?
« on: April 02, 2012, 03:30:07 PM »

tried searching, did really find much. I am interested in an ultra compact bike cover for traveling, preferably water proof/resistant. Anybody use something they would recommend? It would need to cover a chopped tour pak also.....

Thanks

Hard to beat the size, price and quality of Walmart's motorcycle cover. I think the xl might be fine for a Street glide but if not you can go with the XXL which works perfect for an Ultra. http://www.walmart.com/ip/ADCO-Travel-Motorcycle-Cover-X-Large/10913505

A lot of us use covers by Exigent.... small, lightweight, pack small, and don't have any name on them.

Crud, I think I have one of those at home, guess I was dreaming there was something smaller and water proof. With 2 of us, and only a chopped tour pak, that thing takes up to much room.

Not sure which one you have, but the one I have is waterproof and packs up a lot smaller than any others (HD) I've seen. :nixweiss:

FAST, I used to use these covers for my Goldwing when I used to tour and plan to get another for the CVO Ultra. They are light and easy to compact and hold up well in the weather. I had full and half covers.

Check on Aerostich website. They have some nice covers that pack really small.

Also recommend the Walmart cover, small and light.  I can't stand the heavy dust collecting CVO cover that came with my road glide.

These are definitely not travel covers, but they do make a nice cover for winter storage.  :2vrolijk_21:

Another Exigent fan here...I'm not sure you could get a full, waterproof cover that packs any smaller...about the size of a pair of shoes.

The other alternative is a Half Cover, but it won't hide the bike very well...it will keep the seat and electronics covered though.

I'm not sure hiding it does anything, but it keeps people from seeing what kind of bike it is, and even if they can tell it's a Harley under there by the shape, they still don't know it's a CVO model.  Plus, it makes me feel better, and sleep better at night.

It's their "Dresser Rain Cover"    http://www.exigentbikecovers.com/bikecovers.htm

Well made, elastic around the bottom so it stays put, and heat resistant silver part around the bottom...when it's on the bike, the only thing you can see is the bottom 1/3 of the wheels, or less.
