Sorry for your loss. I had to put down both my dogs the same day ( long illnesses and bad coincedence) about two years ago and I'm still not over it. It's rough and I wish the two of you the best.

Sorry to hear of your loss...there is nothing easy about losing a pet like that.  The only thing I try and remember, and it helps a little bit, is how much happier they were with you than they might have been with somebody else, so you were both fortunate to find each other.  Give it some time and you'll be ready for another little friend.  Rescues often make the best pets...I think they remember how bad it was before they met you and are thankful every day.
